Are you an experienced legal secretary or audio typist, looking for home-based legal transcription and/or audio typing work?  Do you want to work flexible hours that suit you?

SW Legal Transcription is a UK-based company providing a typing service to the legal and private sectors and we are always looking for people with previous legal secretarial or audio typing experience to join our growing team. 

All of our transcriptionists are self-employed and, therefore, you will be responsible for payment of your own NI contributions and for ensuring that your self-employment is registered with HMRC.

Essential Criteria
  • You must have at least 3 years' legal secretarial/audio typing experience.
  • You are able to provide at least 1 professional reference.
  • You should be resident in the UK and English must be your first language.
  • You must have excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills.
  • A typing speed of at least 70wpm.
  • Your own password-protected desktop Windows PC, with a minimum operating system of Windows 8.1.
  • A reliable broadband connection.
  • Microsoft Office, no older than Office 2006, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • A personal email address, not shared with anyone else, including members of your family/household.
  • Subscription-based anti-virus software installed on your PC, with real time updates.
  • Your own transcription software.  We recommend Express Scribe Professional, as this supports a wide range of file formats.
  • A compatible foot pedal.  We recommend Infinity.
  • High quality, noise-cancelling headphones.
