What do we do?

SW Legal Transcription provides a bespoke legal transcription and typing service covering all areas of the law as well as the private sector.  We undertake digital transcription, audio transcription, copy typing, document formatting and transcription of recordings of multi-speaker interviews, meetings and focus groups.  Whatever your requirement, whether audio, digital or non-digital, we can help.

All work is undertaken by UK-based typists with previous legal secretarial and audio transcription experience.  

We offer a wide range of service levels with timescales to suit the demands of your business.
 

What can you expect from us?

Our digital and audio transcription service is billed on a "per dictated minute" basis, rounded up to the nearest minute.  This means that if you send in a 50 second sound file you will be billed for 1 minute, if you send in a 10 minute sound file you will be billed for 10 minutes, etc. - no more, no less.

Copy typing is charged per 1,000 words pro rata.  Charges for document formatting and other non-digital services are based on our hourly rate and will be rounded up to the nearest minute.

Our rates are very competitive with no contract and no monthly or minimum fee, allowing you to send in as little or as much work as you want.  You only pay for the work we do!

Simply choose the service level you require from us, in terms of content and timescales and your work will be returned to you within the timeframe stipulated.

We take great pride in the reliability and accuracy of our work, all of which is subjected to thorough quality checks before being returned to our clients.

We recognise that not all work is required "during office hours".  Therefore if you find you need work to be completed and returned to you during an evening or over the weekend, we may be able to arrange this for you - just give us a call to discuss your requirements.

Our contact hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 7.00pm and Friday 7.30am to 5.00pm.  However, if you need to contact us outside of these hours, please text or call us and leave a message.  We will call you back as soon as possible.
 

How does it work?

We use a dedicated workflow software that has been designed specifically for transcription companies.  All clients have a dedicated area for their work within the workflow software which they are able to securely log into.  From this, clients can upload audio files for transcription or other types of documents and also set a specific deadline for each job.  Clients can also access and download completed work, once it has been through our quality control procedures. 

Using this software means we no longer need to rely on email to send and receive audio files and documents.  This, in turn, enables us to provide additional assurance to our clients that maxium confidentiality and security of information is maintained at all times.

However, if clients prefer, they can still use email to send us their audio files or documents, indicating in the subject line which service level they wish to use.  Once the audio file has been transcribed and the work has passed through our quality controls, we will email the completed documents back to the client.
